About Us

Dr Dario Mendoza

Established in 2020 by Dr Dario Mendoza, Cattle Health Consulting provides consultancy, veterinary and related services to dairy and beef clients, both commercial and stud operations, large and small scale producers.

Dr Dario is a senior vet with a passion for the health and well-being of cattle. He has extensive training and experience in the field, having worked for over a decade in New Zealand and Gippsland before settling in the Light North of South Australia. Dr Mendoza shared his knowledge and skills with the final year veterinary students at the Roseworthy Campus of The University of Adelaide as a Production Animal Clinician.

Dr Dario, after being encouraged by a group of reputable local producers, left his position at Roseworthy to establish his own business, Cattle Health Consulting. He established his progressive service with the goal of providing consistent and permanent support to the local cattle farming community. His focus is on preventative herd medicine, reproduction, farm profitability, and animal well-being.

Thanks to the greater flexibility given by his family business, Dr. Dario was able to make time for both his career and taking care of his young son who attends a school in Tanunda, in the Barossa Valley.

The Healthy Hoof

Dr. Dario recognised the challenge that cattle owners in the Central and Northern regions of South Australia face in accessing professional hoof trimming services. He established The Healthy Hoof in April 2023, a subsidiary business of Cattle Health Consulting, to help addressing this issue.

Lyn Chapman

Lyn, born and raised in South Australia, is our senior cattle nurse/technician. Her qualification in veterinary nursing, combined with her extensive work in mixed practice and focus on farm and production animals, has provided Lyn with a wealth of knowledge and skills that she brings to our team.

Lyn's love and passion for animals run deep. Growing up in the countryside surrounded by various species, she developed a deep understanding and connection with them. Lyn's passion for animal care extends beyond her work as a cattle nurse/technician, as she owns a small acreage where she takes care of a mob of Speckle Park cattle, a flock of Merino sheep, and breeds Plymouth Rock and Blue Leghorn chickens. When she's not at work, Lyn enjoys engaging in outdoor activities such as horse riding, motorbiking, camping, and fishing.
